520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc The Christchurch massacre of 2019 raised questions about what it means to belong to an ethnic and/ or religious minority in a country that, despite the mythology of benign race relations, has experienced a long history of underlying prejudice and racism. Despite being the second largest ethnic group within the 'Asian' population of Aotearoa New Zealand, little has been written about the experiences of Indian migrants, either historically or today. Most writing has focused on celebration and integration, but Invisible speaks of survival and the real impacts racism has on the lives of Indian New Zealanders. It uncovers a story of exclusion that has rendered Kiwi-Indians invisible in the historical narratives of the nation.
