The pelt must be clear of any blemish when he brings it to her. A year later, to Sylvia's dismay, Cobalt returns from his quest not only with the pelt, but the Lightning Warrior himself. Henry Baird and Tom Chalmers, rather than see Sylvia doomed to a loveless marriage, take her by dog sled in flight to one of the coastal cities.
