Summary, etc This is the remarkable story of a teenage girl's fight to find happiness. As the sole survivor of a boating accident that claimed the lives of her parents and brother, Susan's experience of survivor guilt led to sex and drugs, and the unexpected journey of teenage motherhood. Unwilling to remain a victim of tragedy, Susan's determination to face her fears, accept herself and the loss of her family, resulted in new found freedom and a thirsty passion for life. This book is a compelling memoir from a brave and courageous woman who invites you to journey with her as she recounts her experiences as a teenager, a young mother, and as a woman. Prior to writing this book, Susan Berg was an Executive Assistant to the CEO of leading Australian and international companies. Susan's writing credits simply involved business presentations, memos, postcards and Facebook status updates. Whilst writing this book, Susan travelled throughout South East Asia, immersing herself in diverse cultures, and engaging in adventures so incredible she has enough material to write a second book - should she wish to do so. Since returning from overseas, Susan has been working back in the corporate world, however the travel bug is beckoning and it is suspected she may pack up her home, and be back on the road again in no time at all. Until that day Susan lives in Melbourne with her son, William, and their two dogs, Rusty and Ella.
